Pupils from Bedales Prep, Dunhurst, started the hockey season with training from Sean Kerly, gold medallist for Bedales Olympic hockeyTeam GB at the Seoul Olympics in 1988.

The masterclass session combined practical skills training with an inspirational talk on Sean’s path to success and a chance to hold the gold medal.

Commenting on Sean’s visit, Jane Grubb, Head of Dunhurst, said: “Sean delivered a lively and energetic session for the children to hone their skills.

They were delighted to hear more about Sean’s experiences playing at county level through to representing Team GB at an Olympic final. A very rewarding day for all with everyone suitably inspired for the term’s sporting fixtures“

The experience took effect immediately with the U12 girls’ hockey team beating Lavant 9-1 in their first week of the term and the U13 girls’ hockey team securing a 11-0 victory against Lavant.
