A Sixth Form pupil at Bedford School has recently achieved two gold medals at the Munich Regatta.

Connor Sheridan represented Great Britain at the event, with his coxless four team beating Poland by a boat’s length in the final, having qualified with the quickest time. His eights team also qualified fastest for the final the following day, securing a second gold medal.

He now stands a chance of being selected for the World Team, following on from his European Team experience last year.

Discussing his success, Connor said: “This means a huge amount to me on a personal level. I was never really a sporty person until I discovered rowing. Since I started rowing five years ago, my fitness levels are so much better than they were.”

His rowing ability has helped him to secure an unconditional offer from Oxford Brookes University, as well as attracting interest from Princeton University.
