LD_20150520_1881 RT cropTwenty-one Bedford School boys celebrated an excellent set of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results this week. The mean points score for boys at the school was 37.2, well above the international average of 30 points. Impressively, over half of the boys were awarded 39 points or more (out of a possible 45), placing them all inside the top 10% of IB Diploma candidates worldwide. To place that in a local context, a standard Oxford University offer is based on achieving 38 points or higher. The school also maintained its impeccable 100% pass rate, which it has achieved since it introduced the IB Diploma in 2005.

Two pupils, Andrew Zhu and Edward Lamb, achieved 44 points and will go on to Oxford University and Durham University, respectively. A further pupil, Jack Dalton, also achieved an Oxford University place on his excellent IB exam results.  Max Erdmann and Rukudzo Msindo will both take up places to read Medicine at Bristol University; and Nihat Aslanoba has secured his place at the prestigious UCLA in California.

Head Master, James Hodgson, said ‘I am delighted for the boys who worked so hard to achieve their goals. They have been a wonderful group and we wish them well as they pursue their various interests beyond Bedford School. We look forward to staying in touch with them all.’
