Boys in Year 6 enjoyed a fun morning with visiting Palaeontologist, Graham Woolard. As well as a fascinating talk, Bedford SchoolGraham brought an amazing array of models and real fossils for the boys to explore and touch, including a Sauropod dinosaur egg he had personally dug up in Montana! In fact the EMH looked like a scene from 'Jurassic Park'!

The fun workshop built upon the Rock Cycle that the boys have studied this term.

From the boys

I thought that the talk was really good as it really enforced what you learn in year 6. I thought Graham was hugely excited about fossils he had found and it was great to see and touch the fossils. I thought his knowledge was also superb!

A palaeontologist came to Bedford Prep School to teach Y6 more about rocks and dinosaurs such as how dinosaur fossils are dug up, how a dinosaur died and the overall history of dinosaurs.

It is very interesting to hear how so many dinosaur fossils have been dug up from all sorts of rocks, especially the sedimentary rocks that we have learned about this term.
