Exam time was here again and after a week of hushed tip-toeing around Swindell’s, silent creeping through the Link Beeston Halland diversions around the crunchy gravel courtyard, the Ts were rewarded with a chance to make as much noise as they wanted while charging around Bewilderwood.

The excitement began early on, the day before in fact, as one boy loudly shouted across the cricket pitch while fielding in a match, “Mr. Morrow, I’m so excited! I can’t stop thinking about tomorrow!”

In fact, so excited the cricket ball rolled straight past him and over the boundary.

The day finally arrived, the bus was loaded and the cloud was slowly burning off. Down at the woods it was a glorious day.

After a boat ride into the woods and a close encounter with a water-squirting, vegetarian crocklebog, the children had tremendous fun climbing, sliding, burrowing, zipping through the trees, building dens and listening to stories. One of the most memorable moments was when everyone got together to

help George overcome his fear of a rather steep slide. It was wonderful seeing all the children offering words of support, encouragement and motivation. It was touch and go for a while, but in the end, he did it and everyone cheered!
