Bishop’s Stortford College Upper Sixth students achieve a 100% pass rate.

Following an extraordinary 2 years of COVID-19 disruptions, Bishop’s Stortford College is pleased to announce that its Upper Sixth students have achieved a 100% pass rate in the 2021 A Level results.

Over half of the College’s Upper Sixth were awarded A* and A grades exclusively, 19 students achieved 3 straight A*s and 4 students (Harry C, John C, Izzy G and Caspar S) achieved 4 A* grades.

The College’s 6 Oxbridge candidates have all had their places confirmed and 84% of students obtained a place at their first-choice university.

The College Head, Kathy Crewe-Read, said “I am extremely proud of our talented students. We are acutely aware of the way in which education has been disrupted by the pandemic for a generation of young people and the dedication and tenacity shown by our Upper Sixth has been outstanding.

Our results (87% A*-B and 67% A*-A) have been achieved in the most extraordinary of times – with teaching, learning, pastoral care and the day-to-day running of the College adapting to the digital world (with no less than 27,319 Zoom meetings taking place in the 20/21 academic year!). We believe in giving every child the best possible opportunity to reach their potential – and the pride I feel in the way in which students and staff have adapted to rise above the challenges placed in front of them is immense”.
