Bishop’s Stortford College’s Duke of Edinburgh achievement rate has exceeded the regional average.

The college’s rate of 88% is higher than the regional rate of 57%, with 120 pupils having earned Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards in 17/18, 21 more than the previous year.

Peter Singleton, the director of the South East region, wrote to the school to congratulate the college on its DofE achievements.

The college’s activities programme is designed to support the breadth and balance of learning, along with honing new skills. A total of 2,678 hours have been spent learning a new skill, 2,990 hours of physical activity has taken place and 3,094 hours have been spent volunteering in the local community.

Headmaster Jeremy Gladwin commented: “I was proud to be able to support our Gold Award students at their presentations from Prince Edward at Buckingham Palace earlier this term and we are extremely proud of all our pupils’ achievements. The scheme continues to grow in popularity and with it, our contribution to our local community. Long may it continue.”
