Bishopstrow College New Principal Lorraine AtkinsWe are pleased to announce that we have completed the recruitment process for a new Principal, and are delighted to announce that Lorraine Atkins has accepted the position, starting in August 2015. Lorraine will have some time with Eric Squires in the intervening months to ensure an effective and smooth transition.

Lorraine brings with her a wealth of international education experience, spanning both the UK and overseas. She started her teaching career as a geography teacher at Lawnside School, Malvern in 1988, before moving on to King’s School, Worcester in 1994 and then Wycliffe College, where she was Head of Geography and Housemistress from 1997 to 2007. From 2007 to 2012, she was Senior Mistress and Head of Geography at Malvern College, before taking on a new role as Deputy Head of Malvern College, Qingdao China in 2012 and then Head in 2014.

Lorraine has exceptional administrative skills, and is a strong team builder and inspirational leader. She is also the mother of four (2 sons, 2 daughters), and has been married to John for 26 years.

We would also like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank Eric Squires, who stepped into theInterim Principal role at short notice and who has already added a lot in the short time he has been with us. Eric will continue to provide the overall educational leadership for the College, and manage the educational side of all of our operations, through to August.

We look forward to welcoming Lorraine to Bishopstrow later this year.
