Bournemouth Collegiate School held its annual Athletics Championships at the local county athletics stadium, Kings Bournemouth CollegiatePark. It was a day of records, energy, competition and fun.

Many BCS Sports Day records were broken, starting with the first two discus events. New discus record holders are Year 10 and 9 pupils, Abi King and Alex Jeffries.

Times dramatically tumbled in the middle distance events. There were gutsy performances in the Year 7/8 boys and girls 1500m and 800m events with BCS county athletes, Tom Bourne and Poppaea Bramwell-reeks storming to victory in both events in new records.

BCS Director of Sport, Richard Harrison-Poole, said, “The day ran without a missed place baton with even the unpredictable British weather being on form! I am delighted and impressed with the level of competition being expressed by all the pupils at BCS.”

Thanks go to all staff for their support and help on the day which was testimony to the smooth running of the day.
