Bournemouth Collegiate School Rowing Academy pupil, Ana Mojasevic achieved great success at The National Bournemouth Collegiate Olympians indoor rowing Junior Indoor rowing Championships, the biggest indoor event in the world.

The Championships took place at the Lee Valley Athletic Centre in London where Ana pulled off an impressive 07:41.0 in the Year 12 Girls 2km race, achieving the silver medal, whilst smashing her own PB time and improving on her 7th position of last year!

Team Captain Ana and the team were lucky to meet Olympian Katherine Grainger at the event. Katherine was happy to chat with them and share her advice and wisdom.

Katherine urged the girls to “Look closely at video footage of your performances and analyse rowing techniques and style in order to improve your performance.”

Ana said, “It was brilliant to meet Katherine who is such an inspiration to me. I was so pleased, not just with my performance, but with the team as a whole. Next year my aim is to bring back the Gold!”

Other BCS Team successes include Alice Tai, who won the Special Invitational Race; Ben Cavill coming 7th out of 185 in the Year 8 Boys race; Katherine Young coming 6th out of 96 in the Year 11 Girls race.

Both BCS boys and girls relay teams came in the top 20, which was a fantastic result considering they had only had a couple of practices in their combinations.

Head Coach Robyn Chambers said: “I am massively impressed with the whole team. We have grown in numbers since last year and all their hard training has seriously paid off! I am so proud of them all and we can’t wait till 2014!”
