Bournemouth Collegiate School Year 7 pupil, Christian Tai, excelled at the recent South West Age Group Swimming Bournemouth CollegiateChampionships which were held at Millfield School in Somerset.

The talented BCS Swimming Academy pupil achieved 5 Gold medals in the 400 IM, 200 Freestyle and 200 IM, 100 Butterfly, 400 Freestyle, gaining National Qualifying times in 4 of these events.

Christian, who is on a flexible programme at BCS which allows him to successfully combine his studies and training, said, “I am really happy with all my PB’s. I wasn’t expecting to swim as well as I did because I’m not resting until the National Championships in July.”

BCS Swimming Academy Coach, Adam Parfitt, said, “Christian’s performances were outstanding. He’s showing real grit and determination.

All of our BCS Swimming Club members have performed brilliantly at these Championships. Our swimmers are improving at an incredible pace.

With the National Championships only a few weeks away it is so encouraging to see the BCS swimmers achieving times that rank them so highly in the National rankings. I’m looking forward to continued success for all.
