0V0A0730A brand new drama, written by Kingswood’s Head of Drama, Kate Nash, will be performed at the Kingswood Theatre from 28-30 June at 7pm.

Based on the collection of Victorian poems by Hilaire Belloc and Heinrich Hoffman, which gives guidelines for children on how they should and should not behave, Nash’s Cautionary Tales, as the new play is entitled, is a unique, amusing and contemporary production which offers great entertainment for all the family.

The production features over 90 pupils from Years 7-9.  In the play the ‘right’ children are praised and revered by the staff for their good behaviour whilst the ‘wrong’ children infiltrate until finally, everyone comes to the conclusion that nobody can be perfect.

Tickets, which are free of charge, are available from saf@kingswood.bath.sch.uk.  However there will be a retiring collection in aid of the Genesis Trust and the UK Sepsis Trust.

Said Kingswood Head of Drama, Kate Nash: “It is always a challenge working with large groups of students and, as a department, we have to continually come up with creative and interesting ways of involving a large cast.  Cautionary Tales demands a very physical style with the whole cast being utilised as an ensemble. This ensures all the pupils have demanding roles and the process is exciting, inspiring and perplexing in equal measure.  The large group of students involved in this production demonstrates the immense dedication that Kingswood has to entertaining and creating new and exciting ways of performances and including as many students as possible in the event. “
