Calum Jarvis and David Gregory have been selected to compete in the European Junior Championships in Prague in July, while Sam Straughan and Grant Halsall have been selected for the European Youth Olympics Festival in Tempere, Finland the same month.

Grant Halsall’s selection came after he broke an impressive three British records in the 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly. He also made it to a senior final in the championships, which is all the more impressive because he is only 15 years old. Emma Wilkins, Zoe Hester and David Gregory also made senior finals, which involved the top eight British swimmers across all age groups.

Sam Staughan added the 100m freestyle British record to the four junior short course British records he has already broken this season, while David Gregory and Joseph Patching both broke the 200m backstroke British records for their age groups.

The swimmers are part of the Plymouth College/Plymouth Leander elite swimming programme.
