Bromsgrove Preparatory School’s U13 A hockey team have been crowned Independent School’s Hockey Cup (ISHC) champions.

The side travelled to the ISHC National Finals at the University of Birmingham on Tuesday, where they defeated Blundell School 7-2 to set up a final against Calday Grange Grammar School. The Worcestershire-based school secured the title with a 7-0 win thanks to four goals from Archie Graves Hall, a brace from Louis Upton and a goal apiece from Robbie Bayliss and William Brown.

On the same day, Bromsgrove’s U13 B team travelled to the National IAPS Finals at Millfield School in place of the A team. They held King’s Hall and The New Beacon to 0-0 and 2-2 draws respectively. The team then dispatched Bedford 1-0 with a strike from Elliot Evans, although this was followed by a 2-0 defeat to Scottish champions Graigclowen. Despite a 2-0 victory against Kingshott School, the side missed out on progressing to the knockout stages of the cup by one point and entered the Plate competition, where they were knocked out on penalties.
