Bromsgrove School Hockey Players Show National Potential

Bromsgrove School Hockey and sports successThree teams from Bromsgrove School have proved their skills at the Midlands Indoor Hockey Finals, with each earning a place in the National Finals in January.
The U18 Boys, U18 Girls and U16 Girls teams faced tough competition from some of the strongest schools in the region.
The U18 Girls were runners up in the Midlands finals following a strong performance in the tournament, with some impressive scores in the qualifying rounds. The girls triumphed in a gripping battle against Oakham in the semi finals with a tense penalty flick competition, before going on to play Repton in the final where despite a 0-3 defeat the girls qualified for the National Finals as Midlands Runner-up. The girls were congratulated on their superb performance, with a special mention to Julia Paschwitz who received player of the tournament.
After a shaky start in the tournament the U18 Boys team grew from strength to strength, leading up to an impressive 4-0 win over Trent College and the title of Midlands Champions. Anton Sieg was the top scorer with 16 goals in 6 games and the boys were praised by the coaches for their outstanding play and fantastic squad performance.
The U16 Girls team got off to a strong start with a 6-1 win over Bablake and went on to play against some strong opposition to get through to the final against Kings High – the team that defeated them in the Midlands Outdoor tournament. The girls showed excellent determination and some great indoor play to emerge as Midlands Champions with a 4-0 win. In addition, the U16 Girls have also achieved success in the Outdoor Midlands Finals and are through to the National playoffs.
All three Indoor teams go through to the National Indoor Finals in January.
