Bromsgrove School Netball U13s Win IAPS Regional Netball Tournament

Bromsgrove School winning netball teamBromsgrove Preparatory School’s U13 Netball squad triumphed at the IAPS Regional Netball tournament at Bakewell.

The girls were expecting tough competition and it proved to be a challenging day, with some close matches in the beginning of the group stages. However the team soon found their feet and went on to show renewed skill and confidence with convincing wins over Prestfelde 8-3, St Mary's Hall 13-1, Wellow House 11-2, Terra Nova 6-3, Moorlands 10-1, Ranby House 9-1 and St Hugh's 18-0. The last two games were against teams close in points but Bromsgrove used their strong marking skills to their advantage to win 9.2 against Foremarke Hall and 6-1 against Packwood Haugh.

The final table showed 11 wins from 11 matches and put the team through to the National Finals at Roedean School. The team faced challenging competition at the Nationals and unfortunately did not repeat their clean sweep, but they were proud to qualify and play in such a prestigious competition.

Coaches Jenny Danks and Angela Strangward commented that “all the U13s should be congratulated on their conduct as players when many decisions were going against them and they displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament.”
