Bromsgrove’s U18 team celebrating at Allianz Park after their win

Bromsgrove School’s 1st XV beat rivals Oundle 27 -18 to a place in the NatWest Schools Cup U18 Final, in what was one of the greatest sporting days in the School’s history. This is the first time a Bromsgrove team has secured a Final place in this prestigious competition and 300 pupils, their parents and many former pupils travelled to the Saracen’s Allianz stadium to witness this historic event.

The final score belies how close the play was, and Oundle were worthy opponents. The ‘Daily Telegraph’ called it ‘a pulsating, 80 minutes of top-class rugby between two brilliantly coached teams’. Tony Windo the School’s Director of Rugby said of his team “They played their best; they are a very, very good side who take the meaning of team play to another level. I am delighted that they will get the opportunity to play at Twickenham”.

The team are now busy preparing for the final at Twickenham, the home of rugby, on March 25th.
