BRUTON SCHOOL FOR GIRLS ENJOY THE TASTE OF SUCCESS WITH LEITHS

Pupils from Bruton School for Girls Sixth Form have enjoyed huge success while studying with Leiths School of Food Bruton School for Girls and Wine.

This years’ group of 14 girls successfully passed the Basic Certificate in Food and Wine, which is a highly regarded industry qualification.

Cordelia Powell of Bruton, Emily Hotson of Frome and Lucy Wingate from Cucklington achieved the highest grade of Distinction, while Becky Forrester and Olivia Clayton achieved a Merit pass and Catherine Hoskins and Flora Moore a Pass Plus grade.

Congratulations also go to Rachael Sherwin, Charlotte Hughes, Harriet Smith, Sophie Atkin, Riyah Collins and Kate Dye and Amber Rose-Dewey for their success.

Cordelia Powell was awarded the ‘Best Student’ award for her achievements in both the practical and theory exams, together with an excellent commitment to the course throughout.

Students work over 4 terms to complete the course, cooking a wide range of dishes. They also learn a variety of culinary skills.

The pupils also complete a basic hygiene certificate and both qualifications provide opportunities for careers, gap year employment and the pleasure of cooking for friends and family.
