Bruton School girls ski tripForty pupils from Bruton School for Girls enjoyed a snow-filled week learning to ski over the Christmas holidays.

On Saturday 15th December pupils flew to Austria where they attended a week of ski school in Mayrhofen in the Tyrol.

Fearless pupils made huge progress during the week thanks to superb instructors, fantastic snow and blue skies.

On the après-ski menu were activities such as curling, which most girls were trying for the first time with varying degrees of success and a dip in the indoor pool.

Girls also designed their own entertainment, staging ‘Bruton’s Got Talent’ – the Austrian edition.

Everyone returned safely in time for Christmas although many were sad to leave the mountains behind.

Headmistress of Bruton School for Girls, Mrs Nicola Botterill, said ‘What a great start to the Christmas break for our girls! A huge thank you must go to our staff for giving the girls this fantastic opportunity. As a geographer, I am always keen for our pupils to see what other countries have to offer, and to give them the opportunity to learn new skills.’
