Burgess Hill hosts networking dinner

Guest speaker, Pat Langham CBE, former Head of Wakefield Girls’ High School and a past President of the Girls’ Schools AssociationBurgess Hill School for Girls hosted a networking dinner to give all of its sixth-form students the opportunity to practise their business rapport in preparation for their future careers.

Guests were invited from a wide range of professional backgrounds and included Tim Loughton MP and Francesca Happé, a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience.

Guest speaker, Pat Langham CBE (pictured), a former Head of Wakefield Girls’ High School and a past President of the Girls’ Schools Association, gave an entertaining account of her career and the lessons learnt along the way. One of the lessons she passed on was to listen before you speak, but her most important message was to make sure you enjoy and are passionate about the career you decide to embark on.

The event was interesting for all the students in attendance, allowing them to speak to various people from a number of professions. It also allowed the sixth-formers to see the huge array of jobs on offer and to find out more about all the opportunites available to them.
