Burgess Hill Pupil Lily Plants Tree for Traditional Farewell

Burgess HillThe Head Girl at Burgess Hill School for Girls planted a tree in the school grounds as part of a traditional farewell.

Senior School students watched the ceremony for retiring Head Girl, Lily Pedersen who gave a tribute speech to each of her school officer colleagues: Eleanor Armitage and Katy Graham (Deputy Head Girls); Dawn Biza (Head of Boarders); Savanna Raber (Sixth Form Events Co-ordinator); Kitty Cleaver (House Events Co-ordinator) and House Captains, Kayley Rainton (Burns House), Phao Wheatley (Milton), Eleanor Coad (Thomas) and Bethan Williams (Yeats).

Headmistress, Mrs Ann Aughwane, announced the new school officers from September. They will be: Lily Williams (Head Girl); Ellie Warner and Freya Loughton (Deputy Head Girls); Holly Ngai (Head of Boarders); Valentine Olds and Beth King (Sixth Form Events Co-ordinator); Anoushka Khandwala (Whole School Events Co-ordinator); Claudia James (House Events Co-ordinator); Amy Scott (House Captain for Burns); Tabitha Reynolds (House Captain for Milton); Lauren Hibbert (House Captain for Thomas) and Lottie Gilmore (House Captain for Yeats).

Burgess Hill School is set in fourteen acres of grounds within a conservation area and a tree has been planted each year in the school grounds since 1982 by the retiring Head Girl.
