Burgess Hill IBM THINK eventDuring the Easter holidays, a group of Sixth Form students gave up their free time to come into school to participate in an IBM THINK event on International Women’s Day on 8 March.

A fulfilling evening of discussion and debate was enjoyed by the girls who were commended by Linda for the intellectual quality of the questions they posed.

Xenia Belwood said “Thank you for organising such a fabulous event! It really inspired me – I was given an insight into the issues which women can face in the working world and beyond. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening.”

Deanna Clark, IBM Client Executive commented “The School is extremely focused on preparing young women for both the working world and life in general. The types of events and opportunities the staff expose the girls to is creative, challenging, innovative and inspirational. It often forces the girls out of their comfort zones, which is great preparation for life outside the safety of a school environment.”

This is the first THINK event that Burgess Hill School for Girls have been invited to contribute to, and it was followed by an open invitation to tour the Watson Global Headquarters in New York City as well as participation in further THINK events.
