The Burgess Hill School for Girls’ Junior and Intermediate Athletics teams finished in first place in the first round of the Sussex Schools’ Track and Field Cup competition at the K2 in Crawley.
Seventeen schools competed in the competition, in hot conditions. Both Burgess Hill teams performed extremely well in both the track and field events and finished as the County Champions, with scores of 353 points and 352 points respectively. The teams will now progress to the regional ‘A’ string final.
Many of the Burgess Hill girls achieved personal bests and Ellie Chadd, 15, and Emma Shilton, 11, achieved personal bests in both their events, scoring highly.
