Burgess Hill girls with drawings of gowns for the Queen
Year 2 pupils at Burgess Hill School for Girls have received a letter from Buckingham Palace after designing ball gowns for the Queen.

The girls each designed a ball gown for Her Majesty the Queen.

The designs were assembled into a book and sent to Buckingham Palace with letter written by one of the girls offering the school’s congratulations and best wishes for her Diamond Jubilee.

The response from Buckingham Palace states:

The Queen greatly appreciated your good wishes and thought it so kind of you to design such splendid ball gowns. Her Majesty was pleased to see the drawings which you enclosed.”

The girls also received a card of thanks from Her Majesty and both are now on display in their classroom.
