Burgess Hill School for Girls results pupilsBurgess Hill School for Girls celebrated excellent GCSE results on Thursday 22nd August.

62.5% of all GCSE examination entries were awarded the top grades of A* and A. Over 70% of the students gained five or more A* or A grades, whilst a quarter of the year group gained A* or A grades in all their examinations.

In a new initiative this year, fifteen girls also chose to take the AQA Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics which is aimed at learners who are likely to progress to A-Level study in Mathematics and Further Mathematics; all achieved top grades with 47% gaining the much prized ‘A* with Distinction’ grade.

There were outstanding results across every subject. In particular, Science and Languages did well and are popular options at Burgess Hill School for Girls. All girls studying Latin achieved A* grades and 85% of those studying Religious Studies achieved A*.

Headmistress Mrs Ann Aughwane commented, “This tremendous achievement certainly reflects well on the girls and their teachers who have worked hard and with such good spirit throughout the year.
