BURGESS HILL SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
Well done to Girls for Good Grades!
Smiles of joy and relief marked the GCSE results’ day at Burgess Hill School for Girls. The loudest squeals came from those whose focused approach yielded grades beyond their expectations.

It was with much delight that the girls celebrated their superb results in the vital core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science: 98.5% of all English Language and Literature results; 92.4% of all IGCSE Science results and 91.7% of all Mathematics and Statistics results were graded A* to B. With equally pleasing results in practical and creative subjects such as Drama, Music, Art and PE the girls once again demonstrated impressive breadth and balance of achievement and interests.

The overall pass rate was 100% with over 97% at grades A* to C. All students achieved the key government measure of at least five A* to C grades including Mathematics and English.

Particular congratulations go to Kitty Cleaver, Eleanor De, Ashleigh Gibbon, Isabel Manning, Aoife McDonald-Bowyer, Constance Moon, Lily Pederson, Eleanor Prail, Kayley Rainton, Rosalind Scott, Emily Seccombe, Kitty Taylor, Phao Wheatley, Bethan Williams, Isobel Wimbleton, Mandy Yau and Julia Zhuang who gained A or A* in all their subjects.

Headmistress, Ann Aughwane, said “Impressive personal achievement is not restricted to those who gained the top grades and we have unreserved admiration for those whose results reflect the amazing progress they have made over the last few years.”

“The pressure on students taking examinations these days is immense, so much depends on their performance in GCSEs we must not underestimate the strength of character required to meet the challenge and succeed.”
