The Burgess Hill School for Girls’ Junior and Intermediate Athletics teams won their events against fourteen Sussex schools in the Mid Sussex Athletics Trials on Wednesday 16th May.
After weeks of cancelled matches due to bad weather, the teams were finally able to take part at Broadbridge Heath. The Burgess Hill School girls’ hard work and training during the rainy weeks paid off as they produced a clear win against fourteen schools.
The whole team performed well, but special congratulations to the following girls who came first or second in their respective event and have qualified to represent Mid Sussex at the Sussex Schools Athletics Championships next month:

Olivia Harding – High Jump
Erin Bateman – 800m
Rebecca Chee – 1500m
Phoebe Dalley-White – Shot
Jane Burnell – Triple Jump
Polly Henderson – 800m
Hollie Tasker – Javelin
Maddie Simons – 800m
