Burgess Hill School for Girls’ Dressage riders have been successful in the National Schools’ Equestrian Association’s (NSEA) Dressage Surrey County Championships and National qualifying show held at Great Bookham Equestrian Centre, Surrey.

The Burgess Hill riders, Rachael Hawkins (13), Alice Reffin (13), Eleanor Reffin (11) and Sarah Rogers (13), all had notably positive moments in their tests.

In the Prelim Class, Sarah Rogers rode a well paced test on her mother’s horse, Ruby. Eleanor Reffin, in her debut for the school team, also produced some attractive walk and trot work to finish her test nicely. Alice Reffin and Rachael Hawkins rode good tests at Novice level, both showing real skill in some sections.

The team was placed fifth overall and Rachael Hawkins was awarded a much deserved individual fourth place in her Class.
