Cheltenham Ladies’ College Girls Celebrate GCSE Results

Year 11 girls at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating after achieving outstanding GCSE results, with a 100% pass rate and an overall A*-A rate of 86.4% across all subjects.

Over 90% of CLC girls studying Maths and 93% of those studying English Literature achieved A*/A grades. Across the Sciences, the A*/A rate achieved this year was 90.2% in Biology, 88.7% in Physics and 89.1% in Chemistry.

The English Language results are being reviewed by the exam board and subsequent data will be published when this is resolved.

The cohort of 130 girls achieved an impressive 790 A* grades and an average of nine A*/A grades each. Among the top achievers were 12 girls who received straight A* grades.

Eve Jardine-Young, Principal of Cheltenham Ladies’ College, said: “These results mean a great deal to the girls and staff who worked hard to achieve them, and will give the pupils a tremendous foundation for both their future studies and their later careers.”
