Girls celebrate A Level success

Girls at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating today after achieving excellent A Level results, with the A* rate of 29.3% being the second highest since the grade was introduced.

A total of 65 girls were awarded three or more grades at A* or A – over 50% of all those sitting A levels – with 16 girls achieving three or more A* grades.

College Principal Eve Jardine-Young said: “I am absolutely delighted for all the girls that their hard work, focus and dedication have yielded the results they deserve.”

College pupils have secured places at the world’s finest universities, with more than 50 US offers including Stamford, Princeton, MIT and Yale. More than 20 girls will be going to Oxford or Cambridge.

In addition to the 120 girls who sat A Levels, 31 pupils received strong International Baccalaureate results last month, for which the average points score was 39.1 and the pass rate was 100%. Two girls achieved the maximum possible score of 45, awarded to only 0.25% of the worldwide entry.
