CLC girls celebrate GCSE success

Year 11 girls at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating today, after achieving outstanding GCSE results, with 90.3% A*-A grades across all subjects and a 99.3% pass rate.

The cohort of 142 girls achieved an impressive 989 A* grades between them, with an average of 9.5 A*/A grades each.

Across the core subjects, English (Literature and Language), Maths and the three Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), the girls achieved a 91.3% A*/A grade average.

Among the top achievers were 22 girls who received straight A* grades, including local day girls Elina Bjorheim, Sophie Dunley, and Charlotte Firkins, from Cheltenham, and Sophie Wand, from Gloucester. A total of 85 CLC students achieved all A*/A grades.

Eve Jardine-Young, Principal of Cheltenham Ladies’ College, said: “These outstanding results reflect the hard work and dedication of all the girls and staff, and will give the students an excellent foundation for their future studies.”
