The girls all competed in the Novice category with Bonnie Welsh, Year 10, coming second in the individual event and Sarah Day, Year 11, taking third place. Meanwhile, in the team competition, Sydney Welsh, Year 11, Georgia Chisnall, Year 11, and Josine Smid, Year 13 came second.

“They kept their cool in what was a very nerve-racking competition,” said Cobham Hall’s Head of Physical Education, Mrs Hooper.

Added another of Cobham Hall’s P.E. staff, Mrs Carney, “They have performed brilliantly to get to the finals in the first place and then to be placed in the top three is quite incredible considering it’s their first time in the championship.”

The independent girls’ school began offering trampolining as an extra-curricular activity in 2012, with girls receiving coaching from a specialist coach. The qualifying round leading up to the championship was the first time Cobham girls had taken part in a trampolining competition.
