Cobham Hall has confirmed that lessons will continue “as normal” whilst schools are physically closed, with pupils following an online timetable.

Although remaining open like many other schools across the country for vulnerable children and children of key workers, Cobham Hall has implemented technology such Microsoft Teams to give lessons to pupils in real time. For international students who had already returned home, lessons are being recorded to follow on their own time zone.

Headmistress Ms Roberts explained: “It was a essential that we continued to provide girls’ education and so in the run up to the announcement of schools closing, we prepared staff and students for this by giving them training in remote teaching and learning.

“It’s been remarkable how resilient the school community has been and is a testament to the girls’ nature that they have taken this all in their stride and to the commitment of a brilliant staff.

“Our thoughts are with Years 11 and 13 during this uncertain time and are doing all we can to support girls in these crucial years too.”

During their remote learning training, girls had a little light relief when ensuring safety always comes first in the Science labs.  They made sure their remote peers had their safety glasses and lab coat on for the lesson! The School has also endeavoured to maintain co-curricular activities, with Head of Humanities, Miss Williams. preparing an online Model United Nations debate, and English Teacher Mrs Bonner organising a school-wide Book Club.
