A novel Colour Run event at Queen’s College, Taunton, raised a staggering £4,289.73 for Love Musgrove, a charity which supports the fantastic work carried out at nearby Musgrove Park Hospital.

Organised by Miss Rachel Booton from the PE Department, the day saw pupils from Years 3 to 13 completing laps of the Lower (playing field) with coloured paint thrown over them by staff, strategically placed around the course.

The independent school in Trull Road welcomed Mr Dan Varley, a community fund-raiser for Love Musgrove, to receive a giant cheque.

He is pictured with Mr Dick Wilde (left), Deputy Head of the Junior School, and Mr Andrew Free, Deputy Head of the Senior School.

With them are the four pupils who raised most money in Senior and Junior, from left, Jack Tregunna (Year 9), Edward Bennett (Year 4), Anya Spensley (Year 3) and Elizabeth Wrayford (Year 10).

Mr Varley thanked everyone at Queen’s for their Colour Run efforts.

He added: “This is a wonderful amount of money and it will definitely be put to good use, particularly during these challenging times.”
