Staff and pupils at Denstone College were delighted to meet Joe Root, the England Cricket Captain, over the weekend.
Joe surprised the school with his request to make use of the fantastic indoor cricket facilities at Denstone following a discussion with close friend and Director of Cricket, Mr Simon Guy.
He gave up some of his valuable time in-between hitting balls to do a Q&A with the pupils, speaking about his cricketing career with Yorkshire and England and the challenges he overcame at school. It was an incredibly wonderful and inspiring discussion for the pupils involved.
Joe will be heading out to New Zealand on 1st November where England will take on New Zealand.
