Culford School holds Philosophy conference

Culford School God challenge Over 200 Sixth Form students from seven Suffolk High Schools took up the opportunity to attend the annual Schools’ Philosophy Conference at Culford School.

After being welcomed by the Headmaster, Julian Johnson-Munday, students from Kesgrave, Stowupland, Bungay, Claydon, Hartismere and East Bergholt High Schools and Thurston Community College were captivated by expert speakers who discussed cosmological arguments and moral issues like the problem of evil.

Speakers included Mr Michael Wilcockson, Head of Divinity at Eton College, academic Dr Jon Loose and well-respected philosophical authors Jules Evans and Dr Stephen Law. The day concluded with a heated question and answer panel discussion.

Rev Dr Alan Palmer, Head of Religious Studies at Culford School said, ‘Culford School is privileged to host this year’s Schools’ Philosophy Conference which provides Suffolk Sixth Formers with an exciting opportunity to hear and question some of the top academic philosophers in the UK’.
