Culford Prep School’s Golf Team participated in the IAPS National Golf Championships for the first time this year and Culford Schoolcame away with a second place finish. One of the team was also awarded second individual position.

Culford Prep School pupils Joseph Beasant (12), Charlie Carter (13) and Jude Everitt (13), travelled to Royal Lytham & St. Anne's Golf Club in Lancashire for the competition. The course, which is one of the most prestigious in the world, was the venue for The Open Championship in 2012 and will host the Walker Cup in 2015.

The Culford team was the first of over thirty participating school teams to tee off and, after a strong start, the team amassed a half-way lead. The trio’s consistently good play, including a hole in one for Charlie Carter, earned them a well-deserved second place finish, with Jude also being awarded individual second place – missing out on the top spot by just two points.

While awaiting the results, the team managed to fit in a tour of the historic clubhouse seeing Seve's famous iron used during his 1979 win.
