Pupils from Culford Prep and Pre-Prep Schools were joined last week by over 400 children from local schools Culford singing togetherto all sing together under the leadership of acclaimed choral conductor and former BBC broadcaster Douglas Coombes MBE for a special ‘Singing Together’ day.

Children from St James, Beyton and Blackbourne Middle Schools, Fairstead House School and Rattlesden, Kennett and Sebert Wood Primary Schools, all aged from seven to thirteen years, came for the day to try out their vocal chords by learning new songs and singing techniques to make the best sound as choirs and choral groups.

The enthusiastic Mr Coombes and Carole Lindsay-Douglas encouraged the children to try out their vocal chords by making weird and wonderful noises before learning a few songs, and composing their own song, to all sing together as a chorus.

Susan Fulford, Culford Prep Music Teacher said, “All of the Culford pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was wonderful to share it with so many local children."
