Culford also welcomed visits by Simon Ash, Chief Constable of Suffolk; Dr Peter Vardy, former VicePrincipal of Heythrop College, University of London; former jockey Bob Champion; author, psycholCulford Schools scholars programme ogist and radio presenter Dr Aric Sigman; hypnotherapist Frank McCoughley; and Mark Vernon, author, academic and broadcaster. 

In addition swimmer Nick Gillingham MBE, world champion and Olympic medallist, spent a day giving masterclasses to Culford swimmers, concluding with a fantastic demonstration in Culford’s indoor swimming pool.

This also launched the partnership between Culford and the West Suffolk Swimming Club which will help to provide a first-class swimming programme at Culford in support of the new swimming scholarships.

Once again Culford hosted the School’s Philosophy Conference, providing Suffolk Sixth Formers with an exciting opportunity to hear and question some of the top academic philosophers in the UK. Over 200 Sixth Form students from seven Suffolk High Schools attended this very successful event.
