Dauntsey’s School has today launched its annual Dodecahedron Competition. Now in its 26th year, this highly respected maths competition is designed to give primary and prep schools’ most able mathematicians the opportunity to pit their skills against each other. The competition typically receives more than 700 entries from some 50 schools across the south west region. Entries are invited from schools entering pupils aged 12 or under on the 31st August 2014.
The preliminary round is held at participating schools with pupils sitting an hour-long multiple choice paper of 36 questions. The papers are marked by staff at the competing schools using materials from Dauntsey’s School.
Results from the preliminary round must be submitted to Dauntsey’s by the 5th May and will be used to select some 30 pupils to participate in the final round which will be held on the 11th June at Dauntsey’s.

“The Dodecahedron Competition is all about encouraging the best and brightest junior mathematicians in a fun and engaging way. The questions in the preliminary round are pretty tough but we are always hugely impressed by the standard of entries.
“To be invited to the finals day is a significant achievement in itself and I can promise those lucky few a brilliant day of maths challenges, fun games and tricky investigations!”
To enter, schools should complete the online entry form by using the link below by Monday 17th March. Entries from individual pupils will not be accepted. There is no charge for entry.
