Dauntsey's School Cookery Course After GCSEs
Pupils from Dauntsey’s School take on a cooking challenge, having completed their GCSEs

Pupils from Dauntsey’s School who have now completed their GCSEs are being kept busy with a range of non-curriculum courses thanks to a new programme introduced by the school for the final few weeks of term.

The majority of pupils from Dauntsey’s have signed up to a series of life skills courses, covering everything from car maintenance and orienteering to cooking and self-defence as well as leadership training – which includes learning how to herd sheep.

Mark Lascelles, Head Master, Dauntsey’s School, said:  “The pupils have worked incredibly hard in the run up to, and during, the GCSEs.  Understandably they don’t want to go back into the classroom because they have been doing exams but parents have been asking if we could provide some practical skills before the pupils headed off for the summer holidays.

“The courses we have introduced are wide-ranging and provide the pupils with some valuable life skills. They also provide a welcome contrast after the intensity of the exam period.”
