7th February 2017, Dean Close Preparatory School pupil Michael Lei, aged ten, was recently awarded a Distinction in his Grade Eight piano exam. Michael achieved a score of 135 out of a possible 150, playing pieces such as Bach Prelude and Fugue, Mozart Sonata 1st Movement and September in the Rain.
Michael has been playing the piano since he was just four years old and is also an accomplished violinist. Michael said, “I am thrilled with my Distinction, I love playing the piano one of my favourite pieces is Chopin, Nocturne No.2 in E Flat Major which I recently played at the House Music competition.”
