Dollar Academy Cross CountryDollar Academy’s annual cross-country event took place on the afternoon of the 7th March in typical spring weather conditions which made the 3.5 mile route very challenging.

Almost three quarters of the entire senior school took part in the run, which extended beyond the school grounds and into the foothills of the Ochils, before returning for a lap of the school campus. The beautiful sunshine, in which the school had basked all morning, broke just as the starter pistol fired and across the higher ground pupils found themselves running through a spring blizzard. This was an adrenaline filled event which pushed the pupils to their limit, making the most of the spectacular countryside which surrounds the school.

The pupils were all dressed in their quint colours and thoroughly enjoyed the run. The first girl across the finish line was Kathryn Gillespie from Form IV and the first boy to finish was Rowan Hookham, Form V. Dollar Academy’s Junior school record was broken by Antony Quinn, who beat the previous fastest time by 2 seconds
