Exam success at Dollar Academy
SQA exam results were received on the 7th August and pupils at Dollar Academy were amongst many across Scotland celebrating success.

Against a record breaking national pass rate for Highers of 76.9%, Dollar pupils in S5 delivered an overall Higher pass rate of 92.5%, with a staggering 61% of these passes at grade A. These results reconfirm the Clackmannanshire school as one of the best performing in Scotland.

Dollar, which prides itself on providing every pupil with the opportunity to sit the full quota of subjects, saw a record 41 pupils achieved a clean sweep of five or more grade A passes at Higher.

S6 results at Dollar were also exceptionally high this year, with over half of Advanced Higher entries achieving a grade A. Almost all applicants will go on to study at one of their chosen universities, including six to Oxford or Cambridge.

Commenting on this year’s achievements David Knapman, Rector at Dollar Academy, said: “This year’s exam results are a testament to the hard work of our pupils, and the encouragement and support they receive from their teachers and parents. New school records have been set with a quarter of our S5 pupils achieving five or more straight A grades at Higher, in a year that has also seen significant achievements in music, sport and art. We are proud of the wide-ranging achievements of all of our pupils.”
