Ellesmere College duo, Caro and Lottie Hulme, opened a new chapter in School's history by becoming the first girls to 
play first team cricket in their age group for Ellesmere.
The 14 year old twins have been playing leading roles in the Under 14 A First XI and say that they feel very privileged to be making School's history and paving the way for many more Ellesmere girl cricketers in the future.
"We are really enjoying the cricket season so far and we have been made to feel very welcome in the team. The cricket facilities and coaching are first class."
The twins have been making quite an impression on the cricket field. In recent matches against Wrekin College, Caro batted undefeated throughout the last seven overs.
Both sisters contributed to a successful win against Newcastle-under-Lyme School, with Caro opening the batting and Lottie taking 6 wickets for just eight runs, which are the best bowling figures by any pupil so far this season.
In the most recent match against Shrewsbury School the U14 A First XI team were victorious with both Caro and Lottie getting a wicket each.
Girl's cricket at the Ellesmere College Cricket Academy continues to go from strength to strength, having had success in the recent Lady Taverners Shropshire Under 15 girl's indoor cricket tournament.
Gareth Owen 1st XI Coach said "The Academy's Winter Programme, delivered by Rod Jones (Head Coach) and Chris Rogers (Sky Sports Young Coach of the Year) has enabled players to practice their cricket throughout the winter in preparation for the summer tournaments and matches.
It is a credit to the girls that they have managed the demands of their school work and a commitment to a number of sports including developing their cricket skills. The girls have displayed tremendous character in playing competitive cricket in the boy's team."
