The Bishop’s Stortford College U16 indoor hockey side prepare for this year’s indoor competition with a masterclass from England men’s indoor coach, Andy Halliday.
On Friday 16th September, the Bishop’s Stortford College U16 indoor hockey side were treated to a masterclass with England men’s indoor coach, Andy Halliday, as they prepare for this year’s indoor competitions. In the two hour session Andy covered a number of fundamental skills, including some individual technical tips before moving on to goal shooting. In the later phases of the session he explained and demonstrated the different types of offence and defence and the pupils finished the evening with a forty minute game under his watchful eye.
Deputy Head Mr Brooks commented, ‘The boys found Andy’s precise technical input and his warm and relaxed coaching style very stimulating and came out of the session having thoroughly enjoyed it, which was lovely to see. Andy has promised to come back several more times this term to help the boys try to achieve their stated dream of reaching the final this year. If they are prepared to work hard and put Andy’s advice into practice, then I am quite sure their improvement will be suitably impressive.’
