Epsom College GCSE ResultsEpsom College is delighted to welcome back this year’s GCSE cohort whose outstanding results have seen the College rise 20 places on last year’s performance in The Daily Telegraph’s Independent Schools GCSE rankings.

With 38% of all grades awarded at A* and a record 72% in the A*-A range, the College broke into the ranks of the 100 top performing schools in 81st position.

Results this year were particularly strong in the core subjects. In Biology, 64% of grades were awarded at A* and 87% in the A*-A range; in English Literature, 73% of grades were at A*-A; and in Mathematics and Physics, 83% and 77% respectively were in the A*-A range. Art results were spectacular with 85% of grades awarded at A* and 100% at A*-A and in Religious Studies, 94% of entries were in the A*-A range.

This talented set of students have now joined Epsom’s vibrant L6th form to embark on their AS level studies and are looking forward to the challenges that life in the sixth form at the College presents. As one new L6th student commented, “The most exciting part about it is the school allows you to have a lot of independence in what you do like the extra-curricular programme. Additional activities such as EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) or YE (Young Enterprise) provide breadth and new opportunities.”

The approach of the College in the 6th form is, indeed, to support our pupils to become confident, independent learners ready for undergraduate life and the world of work.
