Epsom College Top award for College pianist

Talented pianist Dicken Kong has passed his LTCL diploma, which is a standard equivalent to a degree-level Epsom Collegeperformance and is the highest musical qualification a pupil has ever achieved at the College.

U6th former Dicken, who started playing the piano when he was six, sat the exam at Epsom a few months ago. He is taught by College piano teacher and accompanist Richard Deering, who is also an Examiner in Music at Trinity College, London.

Dicken has performed at the Scholar's Concert and Winner's Concert consecutively for the past four years since he was in the U4th form.

He has also performed at the Trinity Guildhall, London, in the presence of HRH the Duke of Kent.

Dicken has been offered a place at Clare College, Cambridge, to read Natural Sciences. He intends to take the third and last level diploma (FTCL) when he is at university.
