National medals for fencers
Plymouth College fencers, Ben Andrews and Emma Andrews, have won a silver and bronze medal respectively in the England Youth Fencing Championships.
The unrelated pair were competing in the U15 boys’ epee and U15 girls’ epee events, held at the Hertfordshire Sports village in Hatfield. Ben, who has just turned 15, won his place in the final with a strong 15/7 win over James Hinwood. Emma, 14, narrowly lost her semi-final 15/11.

Plymouth College diver, Victoria Vincent, 15, has become the European Junior Diving Champion.
Victoria beat the continent’s best to claim victory in the girls’ B platform event in Croatia. She scored 338.30 points in the final to beat Italy’s Giulia Vittorioso and Ukraine’s Sofiia Lyskun into the silver and bronze medal positions.
The medal was Victoria’s second of the Championships, having won a team bronze on the opening day.
Competing for Switzerland, fellow Plymouth College diver, Madeline Coquoz, won a gold medal in the synchro and came 10th in the girls A 1m. Alfie Brown finished in a respectable 6th place in the boys’ B 3m event and 7th in the 1m.
