Priors Field School Excellent inspectionPrior’s Field School in Godalming is enjoying the results of its first Independent Schools’ Inspectorate (ISI) report in six years. The school was given the top grade, excellent, in all nine areas of inspection.

The report concludes that excellent teaching, outstanding relationships and the high quality of both the curriculum and extra curricular activities, enable pupils to make exceptional progress. Achievement, in and out of the classroom, is excellent and the girls are positive, enthusiastic learners. Pupils of all ability do extremely well at the school.

Head Teacher, Julie Roseblade, commented:

“Strong relationships, high expectations and excellent pastoral care underpin the girls’ many achievements. We were particularly pleased by the comment that the rigour of the school is underpinned by kindness, something which sets the tone! This lies at the heart of our approach, and it was good to see inspectors recognising the way in which we build confidence and encourage independence and individuality. We have hugely talented and dedicated teachers who enjoy working with the girls and know exactly how to bring out the best in them.”

Parents expressed very high levels of satisfaction with the school and with the attitudes and views it promotes. Boarders are very happy together, feel well cared for and listened to. Provision of facilities and activities at the weekend and the quality of food were all highly praised.

In 2010, Prior’s Field was placed in the top 0.8% of all schools nationally for value added achievement at GCSE and in the top 1% for A level.
